                                                                 Our Cages and Set-up

Northern Plains Hedgehogs Our cages are the Double Stack, Ferret Nation 142 Cages.  They work very well for our hedgehogs as we can fit there wheel, igloo, litter box, pvc tube, a few toys, and their food and water dish in each cage.  The bottom of the cages we use to stack and store their liners, hedgie bags, and smal fleece blankets.

When we use these cages, we do not add the shelf or the ramp, as hedgehogs can seriously injure themselves if they fall.  The cage bottoms have a plastic liner that our fleece liners are made to fit inside of.

We chose to use the large, silent spinner wheels.  We take off the bottom stand and attach it right the the side of the cage.  It saves on quite a bit of space, and also is more safe as it won't tip over.

We also chose to use the large litter boxes that fit right in the corner of the cage.

There are 3 sizes of igloos to choose from, small, medium, and large.  We use the medium ones as they are perfect for the smaller hedgehogs as well as the larger ones.  Depending on the hedgehog, we put either a hedgie bag, fleece strips, or a small fleece blanket in their igloo to curl up in.

The last large item we have in there cages is a 4 inch pvc elbow tube.  Ours love to run through it, and one even naps in it.

Other things we have in our cages are ceramic food and water bowls, and a few jingle cat toys.
